8th Day of Christmas Challenge...Obey all Laws.

I have to appear in court today. I got a speeding ticket, which puts me in good company in this town. I could have plead guilty last month and been done, but I have reasonable doubt that I was, in fact, speeding. I am not 100 percent positive that I wasn't, mind you. I have certainly broken that law before. But when she pulled me over, I was truly baffled as to why. There were many cars on the road at the time, she was 1/2 a mile away from me, and it was pitch black. So, yeah, I have reasonable doubt. Hopefully the judge will too.

Rules! Some people just hate them. I know my kids do at times. I know there are rules I hate too. But laws and commandments exist for our safety, our benefit. We may not agree with them all, but God's will is that we honor Him and that we honor the laws of the land as well. It was this law that had Joseph and Mary traveling while she was "great with child:"

LUKE 2:1

There went out a decree from Caesar Augustus that all the world should be taxed.

It probably seemed silly and, well taxing, to make such a journey each year. But it was the law of the land and the people obeyed.

So, today's challenge: Obey all local laws, go the speed limit, and if you do not like a law, take a stand and see what you can do to have it changed. Be a positive voice for your community.
